Theodokos
The Virgin Hodegetria of Nowogród, or "She who Shows the Way", is a constant reminder that God loves us. The icon is named after the monastery and sanctuary of the Hodegetria in Constantinople. Legend has it that she led two blind men to the monastery where she restored their sight. Thus, she has become a guide for those who are looking for God. Look closely and you'll see she is pointing at the source of salvation with her right hand.

It's easy to make a commentBUT you are oh SOOOOOOO sacrilegious.
Perhaps it was a sincere expression of pious veneration?
