With the restoration of the Polish state after WW I, my grandfather was commissioned to train the 3rd Silesian Uhlans in Tarnowskie Góry. This picture, straight from an operetta by Franz Lehár, was taken in Warsaw around the time of the Polish-Bolshevik War, ca. 1920.
